The pain you cannot figure out

A bruise is visible.
A cut will bleed.
A broke bone needs a cast.
But when the pain is an emotional wound, it is felt but it cannot be seen.
This is why emotional abuse is so hard to pinpoint.
When you are dealing with emotional neglect as a child, you cannot figure out why it hurts. You blame yourself.
You think there is something wrong with you. You must have done something wrong.
But the reality is, it’s not your fault. You did not deserve to be treated this way.
You deserved to be loved, to be acknowledge and to be honored.
You deserved to be seen.

Neglect is this deep pain that leaves a wide gaping wound in your heart.
On the inside, it feel like your are bleeding to death.
Because how can something be this painful and you still continue to live?

If this resonates with you, or you have experienced childhood neglect, please know that you are not alone.
This space is for you. Lets bring the invisible pain to the surface so we can actually see it and heal it.
